“I wish I would have tried it sooner” is a common sentiment about square dancing. I know that I waited about five years before joining my local club. I found out about it in 2002 and considered joining, but didn’t take the plunge until 2007. I ended up going because I found out that one of my friends belonged to the club and she strongly encouraged me to give it a try. I know that we are all scrambling around for ways to get more people to join our clubs, but I think the most powerful tools at our disposal are our dancers and their enthusiasm.
